It all started in June 2011. 2 sorority sisters. A big/little team. 2 best friends. 2 single girls, one of which was a recent college graduate, sitting in the middle of a bed reminiscing over the last few years of college.
It is important to point out that both of these girls are extremely awkward people and tend to find themselves in extremely complicated situations. It would seem that almost every story included the phrase “it was so awkward” or “we have a complicated relationship”. While discussing all of these random events that had played out during that last school year they began to laugh at how strange the events seemed now that some time had passed. It was a very late night and at some point delirium kicked in and it was decided that there had to be a name to describe such a phenomenon that was their lives. So why not combine the two words that fit with most stories… thus the term “awkwicated” was created.
It’s been almost 2 years now since this initial conversation started and from that day on the girls never forgot about the term. In fact, every time something came to mind a text would be sent saying “we are adding this to our book”. What started out as a complete joke has become a reality (with a hashtag!). We have a blog!
Now, one may ask… Is it possible to be that awkward?Are these situations really complicated or is it just an over exaggeration? Well, you can decide that for yourself. But you know, at some point in time your life has felt a little “awkwicated”.
